I noticed our $500 espresso machine is four years old. We average two lattes per day so it has cost us about 17¢ per latte.
What about coffee and milk? Those come out to 71¢ and 36¢ per latte.
The total is $1.24 per.
We've made 2912 lattes at home. At $4.95 by the each that comes to $14 414 had we bought them prepared by others.
So, by buying a machine, and not buying coffee out, we've 'saved' $10 790.
Unfortunately, that's gone into groceries this year alone.
