@alfredo @gemelliz Yes, but I see absolutely nothing in Vance to give him the capability to lead a cult. Once Trump is gone the republicans will struggle having filled their ranks with Yes-men and quislings. By mastering appeasement they have abandoned leadership morality sound judgment and good sense. It will be merely a competition to see who can best outrage and anger with no moral anchor. <-see Canada’s conservatives. Canada is wise to build its allies elsewhere.

Once the facile MAGAs realize that woah, the policies do suck once you take the orange funnyman out of the picture, a fair number of them will either just fade back into the background or will help the rest of us kick out the bad guys.
Sad thing is, Vance is the more approachable human face of behind-the-scene creeps like Peter Thiel. He's the best they had. I'm sure they're working on someone more palatable already.

@gemelliz The problem is that Europe is on Canada's side - Greenland is part of Denmark which is part of the EU. They have a similar sized economy to the US.
Also, China is pissed off at Trump, and would like to see the USA taken down so they can move into the power vacuum. They have a BIGGER economy than the US.
