🇨🇦 Never forget Pierre and the Conservative Party supported the 'freedom convoy' 'Coutts blockade' & the ' occupation'

Why would we trust this man to protect our country?

cbc.ca/news/politics/poilievre

Public

@gemelliz when people tell you who they are and all that

Public

@AlexanderVI Indeed.
One of the main duties of the Prime Minister is to stand by and support ALL Canadians.
has clearly shown us, repeatedly, that he's incapable of fulfilling that duty.

Public

@gemelliz - apparently him and his crew held a Nazi rally in Dartmouth NS yesterday...

Public
So proud of themselves they hide their faces.
Little cowards.
Public

@Immish ... masks are "ok" for them only when they want to hide their faces, but not protect their fellow citizens during a pandemic... seems to be normal "par-for-the-course" for these types...

Public

@rozcakj @gemelliz I feel bad for the dog.

Public

@AlexanderVI @gemelliz that seemed to be the consensus on Reddit where I first saw this - everyone felt bad for the dog. Apparently police showed-up very quickly and they dispersed.

Public

@rozcakj @AlexanderVI Coincidently, Poilievre is holding a rally in the Maritimes today, maybe that crew will drop by.

Public

@gemelliz @AlexanderVI . considering that the Proud Boys showed up for PP's recent London Ontario rally, then yes - I betchya they will be there...

Public

@rozcakj @gemelliz Wow, look at that huge turnout.

Public

@ZenHeathen @rozcakj Notice the flags.
Mr is also a fan of blackening our national symbols.

Public

@gemelliz @ZenHeathen @rozcakj very “bad cop” signal

Public

@chris @ZenHeathen @rozcakj Interestingly, this year the traditionally blue Conservative election signs in my riding are printed in such dark blue they appear black.

Public

@gemelliz @chris @ZenHeathen @rozcakj

The #CPC signs are definitely dark and I need better glasses to read the small font for the Conservative Party - its almost like they don't want to be associated with themselves 😂

Public

@gemelliz this is a good point I forgot about those racists and Russian disinformationists.

Public

@jmcrookston When an unsavoury individual appears in the news, more often than not, a photo of Mr shaking their hand appears.

Conservative leader Poilievre has never disavowed his Diagolon supporters who helped organize the convoy.

Their insignia was found alongside the weapons seized by the RCMP near the border following the Coutts blockade &
Diagolon insignia was painted on the side of the 'infamous' white ditchbilly trailer that Poilievre visited.

Public

@gemelliz @jmcrookston Where are those freedom convoy fuckwads when the country is actually being threatened by a dictator ? Pretty sure if they blocked the Peace Bridge again tariffs would not last long. It's almost like they dgaf about Canada despite appropriating the flag for their whinefest.

Public

@Captainobservant @gemelliz @jmcrookston
I believe they're meeting in PEI tomorrow with Pierre Poilievre? The blockade folks were the Canada First folks, right? They're having a rally. To submit to similar interests for Canada.

Public

@TanekRune @Captainobservant @gemelliz

It might just be the name of the rally the Conservatives are conducting. They seem to be using Canada Forst lately.

I did a quick Google search but I came up with some other group that I had never heard of before. It had some weird views about how we shouldn't allow immigrants from countries with more than 500 million people. I'm not sure exactly what that accomplishes but somebody had their brain on overdrive to come up with it.

Public

@jmcrookston @Captainobservant @gemelliz
Thanks for the info. I'm ultra leery of anyone running on similar messaging/wording as MAGA.

Public

@TanekRune @Captainobservant @gemelliz agree and to be clear I am not sure it's not, and even if it's not, Pierre is already known to associate with fascists and disinformationists

Public

@jmcrookston @Captainobservant @gemelliz
Very true. He's 100% problematic to my view of a safe and prosperous Canada. Given how much damage Harper did to the environment alone, I wouldn't trust Poilievre to not sell all our fresh water to the States or something for support in a forever-post as PM.

Public

@jmcrookston @TanekRune @Captainobservant @gemelliz There's a very simple explanation: all countries over 500M are non-white.

Public

@alessandro this is true. Probably right.

I wonder why not 250 million thougb? Or some other smaller number? Hmm.

Public

@jmcrookston That would exclude the US, and they probably figured a number between 340 and 500 would be too weirdly specific...

Public

@alessandro true I forgot they are Canadian.

Public

@gemelliz
Go he’d and hit him (either one….lol)

Public

@gemelliz so did Mike Morrice Green Party (Kitchener Centre)

Quiet public

@gemelliz the freedom convoy was a coup attempt, convince me otherwise

Public

@gemelliz so did Mike Morrice, Green Party

Public

@GeriAQuin Mike Morrice's decision to vote against the Emergencies Act addressing the illegal blockades and occupations, particularly in may be endangering his seat.
Centre is no longer listed Green Party SAFE - now listed as a Toss Up with the Liberals.

Edited to clarify Mr Morrice's vote

Public

@gemelliz come ON Libs!

Public

@gemelliz @GeriAQuin Wow. Do you have a source for his position on the convoy?

Public

@uxmark @gemelliz @GeriAQuin Yeah, Mike's my MP and this is the first I've heard of it.

Not hard to find. He voted against the Emergencies Act. mikemorricemp.ca/voting-on-the

But - and it sounds like Im trying to wash it a certain way - voting against the Emergencies Act does NOT mean he's pro convoy in any way. Read his remarks; I disagree, but I respect his decision and he explains his rationale and retains my vote.

MP Mike Morrice - · Voting on the Emergencies Act - MP Mike MorriceLast week the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act, giving broader powers to governments, police, and financial institutions to end the blockades and protests of the “Freedom Convoy”. Members of Parliament have been debating whether the act is necessary in the lead up to a vote today. If passed, the emergency measures will remain in
Public

@uxmark @gemelliz @GeriAQuin In particular I appreciate his concern that EA use on an anti-government, anti-vax protest (that I agree, was breaking all sorts of law; thats the failure of policing), does set a new precedence and one that might allow its use by say a CPC government to squash otherwise benign BLM or LGBT or indigenous protests.

Public

@uxmark @gemelliz @GeriAQuin Fuck.. once again, the more I ready by my MP the more I find I _agree with him_.

Public

@tezoatlipoca @gemelliz @GeriAQuin I think he’s a principled politician, which is saying a lot.

Public

@tezoatlipoca @gemelliz @GeriAQuin Thanks, Third. Much appreciated.

Public

@uxmark @gemelliz @GeriAQuin
It wasn't support for the convoy. Morrice voted against imposition of the Emergencies Act. Elizabeth May voted for.

Public

@felkerb @gemelliz @GeriAQuin Thanks for clarifying.

Public

@felkerb @gemelliz @GeriAQuin Thanks, Bob. Much appreciated.

Public

@gemelliz @GeriAQuin FWIW, GG, I think that saying Mike Morrice supported the convoy is a profoundly unfair characterization. I follow you and generally respect your take on things, but not this.

Public

@gemelliz @GeriAQuin Thanks for editing your earlier post, and explaining the edit.
