Security researchers have discovered around 2000 Citrix NetScalers have been exploited and backdoors deployed in a hacking campaign. Most of the servers had backdoors deployed before they were patched. Europe seems to be most affected, while US, Canada and Russia had low amount of backdoors deployed. Administrators are advised to check their NetScalers for signs of compromise and invoke incident response plans.
